A dream
Fell through the water
And, laughed at the sun
Because it rivaled its beauty
Even the dream, wandered
Until it couldn’t see the sun
Only the black that surrounded it
And, finally the dream felt safe
For the sun- though not as beautiful
As the dream was worshiped by so many
Faded into a small woman
Unnoticed and undetected
Immoral
Until it finally came to rest in the heart of men
Taking their sleep with such images of a woman-
That could never be theirs to remember
That could never be real
Playing with their mind with a shadow of a memory

Beautiful as always!
Just beautiful. I so enjoy reading your teasers 🙂
So beautiful but way too sad. I love the flow of your words to describe her story.
Interesting piece for the picture.
A lovely flow of words. Interesting that I had a totally different take on the picture after the flash. Well done.
Just beautiful
so beautiful, I read through a few times just to enjoy it. 🙂
Straight up beatuiful. I had to read it twice, because I loved what you put on there.
Beautiful in it’s sweet sorrow. Loved it.
Beautiful imagery – a playful poem, cunningly crafted. Well done.
I don’t read much poetry but this is beautiful and very nicely written.
